Colleagues,
I am posting the legal memo released by the City Attorney yesterday in response to my questions about how police personnel records are treated under the proposed contract, particularly G-file type records. Our City Attorney says that under the contract and relevant court rulings, all records - past and present - are public. I agree with our City Attorney's analysis, but would like to confirm that this is also the Austin Police Association's understanding of those same provisions. A link to the legal memo is below.
