STR Joint Council and Planning Commission Hearing

Council:

We will convene tomorrow at 1:00 PM for the Joint City Council and Planning Commission special called meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to review the proposed Short Term Rental regulations and conduct a public hearing.

For tomorrow, I will call to order the meeting of the Austin City Council and then Planning Commission Chairwoman Claire Hempel will call to order the meeting of the Planning Commission. We will begin with a brief presentation from City Staff.

Out of respect for our speakers, please limit questions of staff to only clarifying questions on the presentation. Similarly to the HOME process, Council and Planning Commissioners are asked to send questions directly to Catie Powers and they will be posted on a public website for the council, commission, and public to view. We will post with the link when available.

Following the staff presentation, we will begin public testimony. At the conclusion of public testimony, we will adjourn both the City Council meeting and the Planning Commission meeting.

This will not be the last time the public has an opportunity to speak on this topic. The Planning Commission will meet on February 11, 2025, at 6 PM and City Council will discuss the ordinances at the February 27, 2025, meeting.
