Hi all. In reviewing the annotated "Initial Funding Requests" document that Ed sent out on Friday, I find that I have an additional potential amendment for HHS, and the following questions for APD:
Amendment:
Contract funding for permanent supportive housing for Housing First: $600,000 (which will allow the City to access $1 million through the Medicaid 1115 waiver). [Health and Human Services request #2, page 23 of the document sent Friday]
Questions:
Austin Police Department requested 4 latent print examiner positions and 9 crime scene specialists to assist with a backlog that it sounds like prevents cases from being resolved in a timely fashion. None of these positions appear to have been included in the City Manager's proposed budget. I would like to have a (brief) discussion about whether these are higher priorities than other positions being proposed for funding in FY 2016.
APD had requested 2 victim witness counselor positions in the event that grant funding was not extended into 2016. Has the grant funding been extended?
That should be all for me for now --
Look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.
