Comprehensive Efficiency Assessment

Council Members:
Attached is a draft ordinance relating to an independent, systemic Comprehensive Efficiency Assessment for the City of Austin. As promised, I’ve been working with Jason Hadavi, our City Auditor, TC Broadnax, the City Manager, and the City Attorney’s office regarding the best way for us to have a performance review/audit as soon as possible.

We will discuss this at the Audit & Finance Committee meeting on January 14th. The meeting is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM. As always, all Council Members are invited to attend and participate. There will NOT be a vote by the Audit & Finance Committee. It is just a discussion.
My hope is that we will continue to discuss this and vote on it at the February 5th Council Meeting. We can also have opportunities to discuss it at the two work sessions between now and February 5th, if desired.
Thank you.
Kirk
