City of Austin Council Message Board

Colleagues,

To meet the State requirements for electing appointed members of the Travis Central
Appraisal District, I’m sponsoring Item 56, a resolution to cast our 372 allotted votes for
two open seats. You’ll recall that the Council nominated two candidates, Deborah
Cartwright and Bruce Elfant. There are five total candidates; their biographies are posted
under Item 56, along with some background information from the appraisal district and the
ballot notice.

For your awareness, Austin ISD nominated Deborah Cartwright, and Travis County
nominated Bruce Elfant.

I suggest that, in order to support both of our nominees, we allot our votes in a fashion that
considers the majority weight of votes given by AISD to Ms. Cartwright, and the majority
weight of the votes likely from Travis County Commissioners to Mr. Elfant.

Bruce Elfant: 211
Total: 372

I request the support of my colleagues in the suggested allotment to ensure the maximum
benefit to our nominees.

Williamson County Appraisal District. Please review that ballot and the biographies as
