Colleagues—

I will be offering the following amendment to Item 44. It adds language related to water quality controls and community response to the proposed I-35 expansion.

Colleagues,

It seems there was an issue with the linked file in my initial post. Below is an updated link to the amendment draft—

On behalf of MPT Ellis, please see her proposed amendment to Item 44:
http://assets.austintexas.gov/austincou ... 152838.pdf

Per the work session discussion, this amendment would add a phrase (in asterisks) to the end of lines 99-103 as follows:

“4. Encourage TxDOT, the Austin Transportation Department, and other City departments to continue to collaborate and prioritize reducing the environmental, traffic, and safety impacts of United States Interstate Highway 35, especially the frontage roads. Frontage roads and east-west crossings should prioritize service to the local street network *and should have speed limits no higher than the adjacent local street network*.”

She hopes it will be accepted as a friendly amendment. Thank you!

On behalf of MPT Ellis, please see version 2 of her amendment to Item 44, which adds "and design speeds" so that lines 99-103 would read:

“4. Encourage TxDOT, the Austin Transportation Department, and other City departments to continue to collaborate and prioritize reducing the environmental, traffic, and safety impacts of United States Interstate Highway 35, especially the frontage roads. Frontage roads and east-west crossings should prioritize service to the local street network *and should have speed limits **and design speeds** no higher than the adjacent local street network*.”
