Safety at AUS airport - Item 55

Dear Colleagues,

As you all know, there have been a series of critical safety incidents and near misses at the AUS airport this year. Representing the airport district, I am bringing forward a resolution that endorses several Federal safety reforms and directs local action to implement a centralized ramp control system. As AUS continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to have a more centralized ramp control operation for safe aircraft movement around the terminal.

As I continue to work with our federal delegation and aviation department to address safety improvements and operations at the AUS airport, I hope to have your support on this initiative.
