Item 74 ATP Resolution

Post by Ann Kitchen »

Colleagues

Attached is a revised Resolution related to the Austin Transit Partnership Board of Directors Item 74.

In response to a request from community stakeholders for more time to address recommendations related to the eligibility criteria, application and appointment process, my cosponsors and I are posting a revised Resolution (CM Pool, Fuentes, Vela, Mayor Adler). A redlined version of the revised Resolution is linked here:

The revised Resolution maintains the provisions related to transparency that were recommended by community stakeholders.

The ATP is a public board responsible for implementation and use of taxpayer dollars in line with the contract with the voters. Transparency in the application and appointment process is paramount and appropriate to maintain trust with the community on this major investment.

The revised Resolution directs the City Manager to consult with the Community Advisory Committee on eligibility criteria, application and appointment process for two Community At Large Directors.

The revised Resolution also directs the City Manager to collaborate with the CAC to consult with other community stakeholders including Transit Forward, ATX Mobility Coalition, Chamber of Commerce, CapMetro, ATP, and other community stakeholders.

The revised Resolution suggests, but does not prescribe, eligibility criteria including experience with transit advocacy, equity, and a transit rider.
