DRAFT AMENDMENT LANGUAGE FOR ITEM #51

Mayor Adler will offer the following amendment for item #51 related to Homestead Preservation Districts for council’s consideration today:

INSERT BETWEEN 6th and 7th Whereas clause:

“Whereas state law allows for the implementation of inclusionary zoning in a Homestead Preservation District, which may provide a useful tool to address affordability challenges; and”

INSERT AFTER RESOLVED CLAUSE:

“BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is directed to explore implementation of inclusionary zoning in Homestead Preservation Districts as allowed under state law, including implementation processes, costs, and benefits, and present this information and a proposed ordinance to the Housing and Community Development Committee by August 26; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is directed to explore designation of all other additional qualifying areas as one or more Homestead Preservation Districts, as allowed under state law, and a proposed ordinance initiating the process of designating one or more additional Homestead Preservation Districts, to the Housing and Community Development Committee by August 26.”
