CPRC and Item 95

Colleagues,
The members of the Public Safety Committee, the City Manager, Chief Manley, and OPO Director Muscadin have received a request from the Chair and Vice Chair of the Community Police Review Commission (CPRC) to review all General Order changes directed in Resolution 20200611-095 regarding policing policy reform. The CPRC was formed in September and one of their purposes is to provide community insight and feedback on policing policy. They believe the entirety of Item 95 necessitates community input and we would agree.
As cosponsors of Item 95 and members of the Public Safety Committee, we request that the City Manager, Chief Manley, and Director Muscadin work to engage the CPRC and incorporate their feedback to the proposed changes to General Orders in Item 95 before Council provides feedback.
