NEXT STEP FOR PROJECT CONNECT COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Post by Ann Kitchen »

Colleagues -

At this Friday's meeting of the Council and CapMetro, my colleagues and I [Greg Casar, Leslie Pool. Mayor Steve Adler] along with Commissioner Jeff Travillion, are proposing the next steps for creating the Project Connect Community Advisory Committee.

The Community Advisory Committee will help the Austin Transit Partnership, the Council, and CapMetro in engaging the community and advising on anti-displacement and equity matters related to Project Connect. The Committee will also help the community and the Council in the creation and evaluation of neighborhood-level anti-displacement strategies and priorities, and the identification of Key Performance Indicators and triggers for taking action related to equity and displacement.

This item takes the next step to getting this important Committee up and running. The item proposes a committee of eleven (11) total members including five (5) representatives from existing City and Capital Metro boards, commissions and committees, and an additional six (6) representatives from the community at-large. The item also proposes a nomination process for selecting the at-large CAC members and the qualifications and selection criteria.

Best Regards
