City Manager Search Process Timeline

Attached please find a general timeline for the search for a permanent city manager. It is meant to be general to allow for flexibility. It sets a target for a new manager to start on September 1, 2024. The thinking is that the new manager starting on September 1 allows for the completion of the budget. By doing that, the new manager will not be brought in during the budget process, which would be difficult.

Also, September 1 is only a target. If things go beyond that, so be it. We all want to be thoughtful, and there’s no need to rush to a decision if, at the time, we feel we want more time. This is too important of a decision.
