Colleagues,
I wanted to bring your attention to an article in today's "NY Times", entitled "M.L.S. Tries a New Tactic: Selling Its Young Stars" - https://nyti.ms/2Ku4Dh4. The article provides some interesting information on the economics of M.L.S. and the second half discusses how and why M.L.S. has required teams to run training academies since 2006. That same section provides further insights into the questions I was asking on Wednesday wrt to the structure and nature of the Youth Development Academy included as over $48 million of the almost $96 million cited as community benefits in Exhibit 4 of the terms sheet (http://www.austintexas.gov/edims/document.cfm?id=302612).
Regards,
