Winter Weather Update

Post by Colleen Pate »

The first extreme winter weather storm of this year arrives later tonight. Temperatures have been in the 20s all day today, but it’s been feeling like somewhere in the teens, and it’s only getting colder.

The National Weather Service is now predicting a higher chance of precipitation like freezing rain and sleet in our area starting tonight and continuing tomorrow, creating added safety concerns. As a result, we activated the joint Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center.

You received a message from the City Manager regarding the Council Liaison Officer process which was created earlier this year and is designed to make it easier for you to get information and resolve issues that your community may be experiencing. I encourage you to use this process and contact Council Liaison officers at liaisonofficer@austintexas.gov.

Please feel to let me know if you need anything.
