9/26/2016 – Current Version of Council Member Gallo’s Proposed Grove Amendments

Good Afternoon Council Members,

Since Council only took public comment on the Grove at Shoal Creek PUD proposal during last Thursday’s Council Meeting, Council Member Gallo would like to share the proposed amendments she is currently working on and would have presented at last Thursday’s Council Meeting.

The current version of Council Member Gallo’s proposed amendments are available here: http://bit.ly/2dmLjTF

Council Member Gallo’s proposed amendments are the results of multiple meetings and conversations with the Ridgelea and Oakmont Heights Neighborhood Associations, 45th Street neighbors, and the Bull Creek Road Coalition (BCRC).

For the past few months Council Member Gallo and the District 10 Office have been working with City Staff and ARG to address the concerns from the surrounding neighborhoods. Council Member Gallo has been committed to pushing ARG to meet as many of the neighborhood requests as possible. Council Member Gallo has periodically provided Council with updates on her progress as conversations continued through the Council Message Board. The past updates and summaries that have been used to create Council Member Gallo’s proposed amendments are available using the links below:

• Ridgelea Neighborhood Association: http://austincouncilforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=738
• Oakmont Heights Neighborhood Association: http://austincouncilforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=742
• Proposal for the Creation of a Local Traffic Mitigation Fund: http://austincouncilforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=748
• Advocating for Parkland Superiority at the Grove: http://austincouncilforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=750

The District 10 office has maintained a productive working relationship with ARG that has resulted in positive agreements which have addressed neighborhood concerns. Council Member Gallo’s proposed amendments move us in a direction to find compromises that benefit the surrounding neighborhoods and the City.

During the next few weeks, Council Member Gallo and the District 10 Office will continue to coordinate with the Mayor's Office and Council Member Pool's Office to work together to find solutions that result in a project that fits the character of the surrounding neighborhoods.
